A Trinidad Transport Family, Third Generation
Two companies, one yard in Curepe, and more than twenty-five years of moving containers and gas around this island.
Two companies, one operation
Ramtrans Company Limited handles the freight side: container haulage, heavy transport and container rentals.
Ramdass Sales and Services Limited (RSSL) handles energy: bulk LPG transportation, and the RamGas cooking gas business that supplies homes and kitchens across Trinidad.
Both were founded in 1999. Both operate from the same yard at Spring Village, Valsayn East. Both are run by the same family — the third generation to do this work.
Keeping them together matters more than it sounds. The tractor units that pull containers and the tankers that carry gas are serviced in the same workshop by the same mechanics. One team, one standard, one number to call.
From 1999 to a 201-Trailer Fleet
Both companies founded
Ramtrans Company Limited and Ramdass Sales and Services Limited are established, building on family expertise already generations deep in Trinidad's transport and fuel trade.
Container haulage scales up
The trailer fleet grows to 201 chassis — 57 twenty-foot and 144 forty-foot — pulled by MAN TGX and TGA tractor units, making capacity the operation's defining strength.
RamGas takes the kitchen
The energy arm develops in two directions: bulk LPG haulage in dedicated Hino 700 tankers, and RamGas cylinder delivery straight to homes and restaurants.
Third generation, same yard
Container haulage, LPG transport, cooking gas and container rentals all run from Curepe, with maintenance kept in-house rather than contracted out.
How we actually work
Transport is a business where the promises are easy and the delivery is hard. Ours comes down to three unglamorous things.
Own the capacity. 201 trailers is not vanity — it is the difference between "we can collect that tomorrow" and "we can fit you in next week." Demurrage does not wait for anyone's schedule.
Maintain your own equipment. Our workshop services every unit in the fleet. A truck fixed properly today is a truck that does not strand a customer's cargo on the highway next month.
Answer the phone. This is a family business, not a call centre. When you ring, you reach people who know what is in the yard and what is committed.
What You Get Working With Us
- Over 25 years operating continuously in Trinidad and Tobago
- 201 chassis trailers — capacity when you actually need it
- Container haulage and LPG under one roof, one contact
- In-house fleet maintenance, not outsourced
- A third-generation family business with its name on the trucks
- Island-wide coverage from a central East-West Corridor base
Where to find us
We operate from #19 Bassie Street, Spring Village, Valsayn East, Curepe — on the East-West Corridor, minutes from the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway.
It is a deliberate location. From Curepe we can run west into Port of Spain, east toward Arima and Trincity, and south through Chaguanas and Couva to San Fernando without fighting our way across the island first.
Open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM. Closed Sundays.
